Troubleshoot Events and Tasks

Resolve calendar selection, validation, timezone, recurrence, reminder, subtask, and filtering symptoms.

A calendar cannot be selected

The intended calendar is absent or disabled in an Event or Task form.

Likely causes

The calendar is hidden, read-only, no longer connected, or not available in that specific create form. A standalone Task requires a calendar supplied by its creation screen.

What to do

Make the calendar visible, confirm it is writable, and repair its connection if needed. For a Task, choose an editable calendar in the creation form or open the saved Task, choose Edit task, and select one.

Save is rejected

Likely causes

A required title or writable calendar is missing, a time range is invalid, the item changed elsewhere, or a connected calendar no longer permits the operation.

What to do

Keep the editor open, read the visible error, correct the highlighted detail, and save once. If web reports that a Task changed while you were editing, reload the latest Task before reapplying the change.

Scheduled Date and Time conflicts with a Due Date

The Task editor rejects a plan whose Scheduled Date and Time begins after its Due Date or Due Date and Time.

Likely causes

The Scheduled Date and Time is later than the Due Date or Due Date and Time, often after changing one date or timezone.

What to do

Move the Scheduled Date and Time earlier, move the Due Date or Due Date and Time later, or remove one of them if it is not needed.

An Event or Task appears on an unexpected date

Likely causes

The item has an exact time displayed in another timezone, a manual profile timezone is still selected, or a date-only value was interpreted as timed.

What to do

Check whether the value is timed or date-only, review the profile timezone, and compare the Event or Task timezone. See Timezones.

A read-only Event cannot be edited

Likely causes

The provider grants view-only access or the subscription is inherently read-only.

What to do

Edit the Event at its provider if permitted, ask the owner for edit access, or create your own Event on a writable calendar. Choose Refresh calendars after access changes.

A recurring change cannot be applied

Likely causes

The selected item lacks a safe occurrence reference, the provider restricts recurrence changes, or the requested scope is unavailable on that platform.

What to do

Choose one of the scopes Harmonise offers. Use mobile for Event recurrence editing. If the provider requires a whole-series change, edit the series or make the change in the provider app and synchronize again.

Linked Tasks are still loading

Likely causes

The Event editor or delete dialog is checking the affected linked Tasks before it can safely save or delete the Event. A network error can also prevent Harmonise from confirming the current linked-Task relationship.

What to do

Wait for the linked-Task check to finish. If a Retry button appears, use it once after the connection is stable. Do not close the dialog and repeat the same save or delete until Harmonise knows which linked Tasks are affected.

Linked Tasks changed while editing

Likely causes

Another device, browser tab, or sync update changed the linked Tasks after you opened the web Event editor.

What to do

Review the warning, then reload the linked Tasks before saving. Harmonise keeps your local draft edits visible so you can compare them before applying the latest linked-Task information.

A linked-Task refresh warning appears after saving an Event

Likely causes

The Event save or delete succeeded, but one or more affected Tasks could not be refreshed afterward.

What to do

Keep the warning in view, refresh the visible data, and open the affected Event or Tasks before making the same change again. Existing Task data is preserved until Harmonise can confirm the latest Task state.

The subtask limit is reached

Likely causes

The Task already has 100 subtasks.

What to do

Complete, remove, or consolidate existing subtasks before adding another. Consider splitting a very large checklist into separate Tasks.

A reminder cannot be added

Likely causes

The reminder needs a valid Event time, Task Due Date or Due Date and Time, or timed Task Scheduled Date and Time, or the active reminder limit is reached. Events allow two active reminders. Tasks allow two deadline reminders, two scheduled-start reminders, and four active reminders in total.

What to do

Remove an unneeded reminder, confirm the anchor time exists, and add the new reminder once.

An item appears to be missing

Likely causes

Its calendar is hidden, the current view or date does not include it, or a Task is in a different planning group.

What to do

Check calendar filters, return to Today or the item’s date, and look in the relevant active, anytime, upcoming, completed, linked, or recurring Task view. Refresh the visible data if the filters are correct.
