Before you begin
- An iCalendar file with an .ics extension
Import an .ics file when you want to copy its Events into Harmonise once. An import is not a provider connection or subscription: later changes to the original file do not update the imported Events.
Choose a destination
You can import into an existing editable Harmonise calendar or choose A new Harmonise calendar. External provider calendars, read-only calendars, and subscribed calendars are not import destinations. If you do not have an eligible destination, choose a new Harmonise calendar.
On mobile
- Open Settings > Calendars.
- Find Import calendar file and choose Choose .ics file.
- Select the iCalendar file.
- Choose A new Harmonise calendar or an existing editable Harmonise calendar as the import destination.
- Choose Import events.
- Stay on the import status or return later and choose Refresh status.
When the import completes, the screen shows the imported Event count. If it fails or is cancelled, read the safe error message and start another import only after confirming that the first one is no longer processing.
On web
- Open Settings.
- Find Import calendar file and choose Choose .ics file (or Change if a file is already selected).
- Select the
.icsfile. - Under Import into, choose A new Harmonise calendar or an existing editable Harmonise calendar.
- Choose Import events.
- Use Refresh status to check a processing import. When it completes, the page shows the imported Event count.
The web screen may continue processing after the dialog closes. It can show a message such as Processing is continuing. Use Refresh status to check again.
Import behavior
The import copies Event data into Harmonise. It has no ongoing connection to the file and does not send changes back to the file or its original provider. Imported Events can be managed in the selected Harmonise calendar according to that calendar’s normal permissions.
Do not start the same import again while it is still Processing. If you are unsure whether a completed import was applied, choose Refresh status and check the destination calendar before retrying. Repeating an uncertain import can create duplicate Events.
If an import fails, restore connectivity, review the visible error, and choose Start another import after the failed or cancelled status is shown. Keep the original file available so you can retry the same source deliberately.
