Sync and Offline
Understand Harmonise account sync, external calendar sync, and what the mobile app can safely do without a connection.
Before you begin
- A signed-in Harmonise account
Harmonise uses three related systems:
- Harmonise account sync carries profile, calendar, Event, and Task changes between your signed-in mobile devices.
- External provider sync exchanges supported Event changes with Google, Outlook, Apple, Yahoo, or compatible CalDAV calendars.
- Local cached and offline behavior controls what the mobile app can show or save without a connection.
What Harmonise synchronizes
When the mobile app starts, it loads the current account state and then retrieves newer changes. Later checks can pull only what changed. Another device may need a manual refresh before a recent change appears.
The mobile Sync sheet can turn account sync off or on for the current device. Turning it off does not sign you out, disconnect calendar integrations, delete cloud data, or remove cached information. Pending supported changes remain on that device until sync is turned on again.
When synchronization happens
The app checks during startup and resume. A restored network connection can trigger another check. Devices may not refresh at the same instant; use the visible sync status and a manual refresh when verifying a recent change.
External provider synchronization can take additional time. See Manage connected calendars for provider Event synchronization and calendar-list refreshes.
Sync on mobile
Pull down on Home to request fresh visible Events and Tasks. The Home sync status can show a relative Synced time, Offline, Sync issue, Cached data, Syncing, Uploading changes, a pending count, or Needs review. Open Sync to see Cloud sync for this device, Pending changes, Conflicts, Connection, and Last synced.
The Sync sheet can show enabled, disabled, checking, and unavailable states. It offers Sync now, Try syncing again, Refresh visible data, Check connection again, Fetch latest conflict status, and Retry checking this device when those actions apply. Turning sync off asks for confirmation and keeps pending changes on the device.
The app can detect a conflict and fetch its latest status. If it does not show a way to resolve the conflict, avoid repeated edits to the same item and contact support.
What remains available offline
The app can reopen account-owned profile, calendar, Event, and Task information that was previously cached. Coverage depends on what was loaded before the connection was lost. A cached view is not proof that it contains the latest server version.
Provider discovery, provider Event refresh, profile saves, and most first-time loads require a connection.
Pending changes
Some supported Event and Task changes can be saved locally and synchronized later when the relevant mobile save path is active. Offline eligibility depends on the calendar, operation, recurrence, server-owned side effects, and synchronization state.
If a save fails while disconnected, do not assume that it will upload later. Reconnect, reopen the item, confirm whether the change was saved, and repeat the action once if it was not.
Protecting your data
Do not clear app data while important changes remain pending. Wait for the pending count to reach zero and a successful sync time to appear. Turning sync off is not cloud deletion.
