Before you begin

  • A signed-in Harmonise account

Harmonise saves a timezone preference on your profile. New timed Events and Tasks use that profile timezone, and the preference is available to your signed-in clients.

Follow system or choose manually

On mobile, open Settings > Timezone. Choose Follow system, or search and select a location. On web, open Settings > Timezone and make the same choice.

  • Follow system updates the resolved profile timezone when Harmonise detects a different device or browser timezone.
  • A manual choice stays fixed until you select another timezone or return to Follow system.

If a device timezone changes while you travel, Harmonise can show a mismatch prompt before changing a system-following preference. A manual choice does not change automatically.

Account, Event, and Task timezones

The account timezone is the default context for new timed items and displays. Each Event also keeps the timezone used when it was created. That Event timezone is fixed after creation, which keeps recurrence calculations stable.

Each Task keeps its timezone for its Due Date and Scheduled Date. The web Task editor shows that timezone but does not let you replace it. Changing the profile timezone changes how timed values are displayed; it does not rewrite the saved moment or timezone of existing items.

When a client creates a Task, it must send the intended Task timezone before saving. Harmonise does not treat a missing Task timezone as a valid saved Task or silently repair it later.

Timed and date-only values

A timed Event, exact Task Due Date and Time, or timed Scheduled Date and Time represents a specific moment. Harmonise can display that moment at a different local clock time when your resolved account timezone changes.

A date-only Due Date or Scheduled Date represents a calendar date rather than an exact moment. An all-day Event likewise stays attached to its Event date. These values should not shift by an hour merely because daylight-saving rules or the display timezone changed.

If a date-only item appears on an unexpected date, first confirm whether it is truly date-only or has an exact time, then compare the profile timezone with the item’s saved timezone.
