Connect Yahoo Calendar

Connect Yahoo Calendar to see your Yahoo events alongside your other plans in Harmonise.

If you have permission to edit a Yahoo calendar, Harmonise can also sync supported event changes back to Yahoo.

To connect, you will need your Yahoo email address and an app password generated by Yahoo.

Do not use your normal Yahoo account password when connecting Yahoo Calendar to Harmonise.

Before you begin

Make sure you can sign in to the Yahoo account that contains the calendars you want to connect.

When connecting, you will use:

• Your Yahoo email address
• A Yahoo-generated app password

An app password is a separate password generated by Yahoo that allows Harmonise to connect to your account without using your normal Yahoo account password.

Your Yahoo connection shares the same connected-account allowance as Google, Outlook, Apple, and CalDAV accounts.

Create a Yahoo app password

Before connecting Yahoo Calendar in Harmonise, create an app password from your Yahoo account.

1. Sign in to your Yahoo account.
2. Open Account Security.
3. Find External connections.
4. Select Create app password.
5. Enter Harmonise as the app name.
6. Select Generate password.
7. Copy the password generated by Yahoo.
8. Select Done after you have copied the password.

Use this generated password in Harmonise instead of your normal Yahoo account password.

Do not enter your:

• Normal Yahoo account password
• Browser or device password
• Sign-in verification code

into the App password field in Harmonise.

Connect on mobile

Once you have created your Yahoo app password:

1. Open Settings > Calendars.
2. Under Calendar integrations, select Connect Yahoo Calendar.
3. Enter your Yahoo email.
4. Enter the App password you generated from Yahoo.
5. Select Connect Yahoo Calendar.
6. Wait for Harmonise to verify the connection and find your calendars.

Your connection may briefly show Pending while Harmonise verifies your account and discovers the calendars available through Yahoo.

After connecting

Once connected, you can:

• Show or hide calendars
• Turn Sync on or off
• Choose an eligible default calendar
• Map connected calendars to calendars in Harmonise

Editing Yahoo Calendar events

What you can change depends on your access to each Yahoo calendar.

• Read-only calendars can be viewed in Harmonise but cannot receive event changes.
• Editable calendars can receive supported event creates, edits, and deletions.

Recurring events may ask whether you want to change one occurrence or more of the series.

Tasks remain Harmonise Tasks and do not become Yahoo tasks.

Refresh or sync your calendars

Use Refresh calendars when you:

• Add a Yahoo calendar
• Remove a Yahoo calendar
• Change calendar sharing
• Change your access to a calendar

Use Sync now if an existing calendar is connected but its events appear out of date.

Some changes may take a short while to appear.

If your app password is rejected

First check that you entered:

• The correct Yahoo email address
• A Yahoo-generated app password rather than your normal Yahoo account password

If the app password still does not work, create a new app password from Yahoo Account Security and try again.

Use Replace credentials when available to update the connection.

If the connection shows Error or Revoked, disconnect and reconnect the Yahoo account if needed.

Changing your normal Yahoo account password does not automatically revoke an existing Yahoo app password.

If you want to invalidate an app password, delete that app password from your Yahoo account.

If you cannot create an app password

Yahoo may sometimes prevent an account from creating an app password.

If Create app password is missing or Yahoo does not allow you to generate one:

1. Make sure you are signed in to the correct Yahoo account.
2. Try from a browser that you regularly use to access Yahoo.
3. Avoid using a private or Incognito browsing window.
4. Sign in to Yahoo normally and confirm that you can access your account before trying again.

Yahoo determines whether app-password creation is available for an account. Harmonise cannot enable this option on Yahoo’s behalf.

If Yahoo does not allow an app password to be created, you will not be able to connect that Yahoo account to Harmonise using this connection method.

Replace your Yahoo credentials

If you revoke the Yahoo app password used by Harmonise or need to replace it:

1. Open Account Security in Yahoo.
2. Find External connections.
3. Select Create app password.
4. Enter Harmonise as the app name.
5. Generate and copy the new password.
6. Return to Harmonise.
7. Use Replace credentials when available.

If replacing the credentials does not restore the connection, disconnect the Yahoo account and connect it again using the new app password.

Disconnect Yahoo Calendar

Select Disconnect from the Yahoo Calendar connection in Harmonise to stop syncing that Yahoo account.

Disconnecting the account from Harmonise:

• Stops future synchronization with that account
• Does not delete your calendars from Yahoo
• Does not delete events stored with Yahoo
• Does not affect other calendar accounts connected to Harmonise

If you also want to revoke the credential used by Harmonise:

1. Open Account Security in Yahoo.
2. Find External connections.
3. Find the app password you created for Harmonise.
4. Delete that app password.

Deleting the app password prevents it from being used again.

Keep your credentials private

Treat your Yahoo app password like any other account credential.

Do not send your Yahoo account password or app password in a support message, email, or screenshot.

If you need help troubleshooting a connection, you can safely provide:

• The connection status shown in Harmonise
• The steps you completed in the mobile app
• The visible error message

Do not include the password itself.
