Verified
Use the visible status and error message first. The recovery steps below avoid repeating an action while an earlier connection, synchronization, subscription refresh, or import may still be processing.
The provider connection is still being prepared
Likely causes
After Google, Outlook, Apple, Yahoo, or CalDAV accepts the sign-in or credentials, Harmonise still needs to verify the account and discover its calendars.
What to do
Wait for the account card to show Connected and its calendars. Leave and return to Settings if needed. For CalDAV, verification can take a moment before discovery begins.
What not to do
Do not submit the same credentials repeatedly while the card shows Pending.
A provider is unavailable or not enabled
Likely causes
The provider capability is temporarily unavailable in the current Harmonise deployment, or required provider access is not ready.
What to do
Use another available integration, such as an ICS subscription, or wait and try again later. If a provider card is visible but says it is currently unavailable, follow that message rather than repeatedly opening the connection form.
Adding another account is unavailable
Likely causes
The current plan’s direct provider-account allowance has been reached, or the provider is temporarily unavailable. Google, Outlook, Apple, Yahoo, and CalDAV accounts share this allowance.
What to do
Review the account cards and your plan. Keep the connection you need active, or remove an account you no longer use before trying again. At the current policy, Free allows one direct provider account and Pro and Business allow substantially more; the availability message in Settings is authoritative.
What not to do
Do not disconnect a working account until you have confirmed which provider identity you want to keep.
A connection is paused by the plan
Likely causes
The current plan allows fewer direct provider accounts than are configured, often after a downgrade. Harmonise pauses the excess connection rather than deleting its provider calendars and Events.
What to do
Upgrade or reduce the configured connections, then wait for the paused account to become available again. Use the account card’s status and actions as the source of truth.
What not to do
Do not recreate the provider calendars or Events in Harmonise while the account is paused.
Calendar discovery failed
Likely causes
The provider rejected access, was temporarily unavailable, or returned a calendar list Harmonise could not finish processing. Existing discovered calendars may remain while the latest check fails.
What to do
Read the safe message on the account card. If Retry verification or another retry action is shown, choose it once after the connection is stable. If the provider requires new credentials, choose Replace credentials or reconnect the same identity.
What not to do
Do not create replacement calendars or Events until you know whether the provider list will recover.
Retry is temporarily unavailable
Likely causes
The previous check is still processing, the provider is rate-limited, or the account has reached a retry wait period.
What to do
Wait for the retry action to become available and then try once. Use Refresh calendars only for a changed calendar list; it does not bypass a credential or provider outage.
The account shows Error or Revoked
Likely causes
Provider access or credentials expired, were revoked, or no longer have the required permission.
What to do
For Google or Outlook, reconnect the same provider identity and approve access again. For Apple, create a new Apple app-specific password. For Yahoo, create a new Yahoo-generated app password. For CalDAV, confirm the server URL and account credentials. Use Replace credentials when the account card offers it, then wait for discovery.
What not to do
Do not send a password, app password, or verification code to support.
A provider calendar is missing
Likely causes
The provider has not been rediscovered, the wrong account is connected, or the calendar is hidden.
What to do
Choose Refresh calendars, wait for the list to reload, then choose Edit and check Visible and Sync. Confirm the provider identity on the account card. If the calendar is still absent, check it at the provider.
Events are stale
Likely causes
The calendar’s Sync setting is off, the account needs repair, or provider processing is delayed.
What to do
Confirm the account is Connected and the calendar has Sync enabled, then choose Sync now. Use Refresh calendars only if the calendar list or permission changed. If the card shows Error, Revoked, or Paused by plan, repair that state first.
What not to do
Do not recreate a provider Event while synchronization or repair is still in progress.
A calendar is hidden but still updating
Likely causes
Hidden controls normal planning views, while Sync controls provider updates. These settings are independent.
What to do
Leave the calendar hidden if you only want to reduce planning noise. Turn Sync off when you also want to stop updates for that calendar.
What not to do
Do not disconnect the whole provider account just to remove one calendar from planning views.
Synchronization is disabled
Likely causes
The calendar’s Sync control is off, or the complete account is paused, revoked, or disconnected.
What to do
In Settings > Calendars > Edit, turn Sync on and choose Save. If the control is disabled, read the account status and repair the provider connection or plan allowance first.
What not to do
Do not recreate provider Events while the account is paused or the calendar is still being repaired.
The wrong destination calendar is selected
Likely causes
The external calendar is mapped to a different Harmonise calendar, or its previous destination is unavailable.
What to do
Open the account’s mapping control, choose an eligible editable Harmonise calendar, and wait for the update to finish. Do not use the main Calendars Edit and Save workflow for mapping. If it says Current mapping unavailable, create or save a Harmonise calendar first. Choose Sync now afterward when the account offers it. See Map an external calendar to Harmonise.
Apple credentials are rejected
Likely causes
The Apple ID email is wrong, the app-specific password expired or was revoked, or the normal Apple Account password was entered instead.
What to do
Use the Apple ID email for the iCloud Calendar account and a new Apple app-specific password. Never enter the normal Apple Account password, device passcode, or verification code. Revoke the old app-specific password after the replacement works.
What not to do
Do not submit the normal Apple Account password or repeat the connection while verification is still running.
Yahoo app password is rejected
Likely causes
The Yahoo email is wrong, the app password was revoked, or the normal Yahoo password was entered.
What to do
Use the Yahoo email for the calendar account and a Yahoo-generated app password. Do not use the normal Yahoo password. Create a replacement app password, choose Replace credentials, and wait for verification before trying another change.
What not to do
Do not send the app password to support or repeat the form while the account shows Pending.
CalDAV credentials or server URL are rejected
Likely causes
The server or discovery URL is not a compatible CalDAV endpoint, or the username, password, or account details do not match the service.
What to do
Confirm the Server or discovery URL, Username, and Password with the CalDAV service. Use a compatible CalDAV endpoint, not an ICS subscription URL. If verification remains unavailable, wait and try again later rather than repeatedly submitting credentials.
What not to do
Do not paste CalDAV passwords into support messages or submit new credentials while the account shows Pending.
Microsoft administrator consent is blocked
Likely causes
The Microsoft work or school account is subject to an organization policy that requires administrator approval.
What to do
Ask the Microsoft 365 administrator whether Harmonise calendar access is permitted for the work or school account. Repeating sign-in cannot override organization policy.
What not to do
Do not keep repeating sign-in when the organization has blocked third-party consent.
A subscribed calendar URL is rejected
Likely causes
The URL is not an HTTPS ICS feed, contains manually embedded username/password data or unsupported URL data, has moved, or the feed is unavailable.
What to do
Check the URL at its source, enter the complete HTTPS feed again under Subscribed calendars, and wait for Connecting to finish. Provider-issued query tokens can be part of a private URL; keep the complete feed URL secret.
A subscribed calendar has stopped updating
Likely causes
Automatic updates are off, the feed is unavailable, a manual refresh is on cooldown, or the subscription is Paused by plan.
What to do
Check the status and safe error message. Use Check status or Refresh when the control is available. A recent manual refresh can be on cooldown, so wait instead of repeatedly pressing it. If Automatic updates is off, turn it on and save.
If the status is Paused by plan, reduce the configured subscriptions or upgrade the plan. Current subscribed Events remain while the feed is paused.
What not to do
Do not delete and recreate a subscription while a refresh is processing or its status is still updating.
Subscription refresh is temporarily unavailable
Likely causes
A previous refresh is still processing, or the subscription has reached its manual-refresh cooldown.
What to do
Wait until Refresh becomes available or use Check status when it is offered. Follow the time shown by the page instead of trying to bypass the wait.
What not to do
Do not press Refresh repeatedly or create a second subscription for the same feed.
An ICS import failed or was cancelled
Likely causes
The file could not be read, the connection failed while the import was processing, or the destination was not eligible.
What to do
Choose Refresh status and wait for a terminal failed or cancelled state. Check the visible error, restore connectivity, and choose Start another import. Select an existing editable Harmonise calendar or A new Harmonise calendar; an external or subscribed calendar cannot be an import destination.
What not to do
Do not start another import while the first one still says Processing.
Duplicate Events appeared after a retry
Likely causes
An earlier provider write or ICS import may have completed after the screen showed an uncertain error, and the action was repeated.
What to do
Check the provider calendar and Harmonise after synchronization finishes. Keep one confirmed copy, then remove the duplicate through the normal Event controls or at the provider as appropriate. If you are unsure, share only the Event titles, dates, provider name, and safe error text.
What not to do
Do not keep retrying a create, delete, import, or reconnect action while its result is uncertain.
