Connect Microsoft Teams
Connect a Microsoft work or school account to create managed Teams meetings on timed Events.
Before you begin
- A signed-in Harmonise account
- A Microsoft work or school account
- Microsoft Teams online meetings available for that organization
Microsoft Teams managed meeting creation in Harmonise requires a Microsoft work or school account. A qualifying account can belong to a business, organization, school, or university. A personal Microsoft account is not supported for managed Microsoft Teams meeting creation.
This is an account-eligibility rule, not a requirement for a plan literally named Enterprise or Education. Microsoft Teams must also be available for the connected organization.
Before you start
Use the Microsoft account that belongs to the organization where you want to create Teams meetings. Microsoft organization or Entra policies may require an administrator to approve the connection. Harmonise cannot override an organization’s Microsoft security policy.
Connecting Microsoft Calendar and connecting Microsoft Teams are separate actions. A Microsoft Calendar connection does not automatically guarantee that managed Teams meeting creation is authorized.
Connect Microsoft Teams
Open Settings, select Integrations, and find Meeting providers.
- Find the Microsoft Teams provider row.
- Select Connect account.
- When Microsoft opens, choose or sign in with your work or school account.
- Review Microsoft’s authorization request and approve it, or start the administrator approval process if Microsoft requires it.
- Return to Harmonise and wait for the Microsoft Teams account row to appear as connected.
Harmonise requests Microsoft’s delegated OnlineMeetings.ReadWrite
capability. This is the permission Microsoft uses for an application to create
and update online meeting details on your behalf. Microsoft may show wording
such as Approval required or Need admin approval instead of allowing
immediate approval.
If you accidentally choose a personal account, cancel the flow and start again with the work or school account. If the provider row says This provider is not configured or This provider is currently unavailable, Teams is not ready in the current Harmonise environment.
Add Teams to an Event
- Create or edit an Event.
- Make sure the Event has a start and end time. Managed Teams meetings do not support all-day Events.
- Select Online meeting and choose Microsoft Teams.
- Choose the connected Microsoft Teams account if Harmonise shows more than one.
- Save the Event.
Harmonise creates the managed Teams meeting and attaches its participant link to the Event. A Teams account and the Event’s calendar account are separate; changing the Event calendar does not automatically change the Teams connection.
If your Microsoft account is personal, or you cannot obtain organization approval, you can still use a link you already have: choose Meeting link and paste the absolute HTTPS Teams URL. This is a manually supplied link, so Harmonise stores it with the Event but does not create or update the Teams meeting behind it.
If Microsoft authorization needs attention
Use Reconnect on the Microsoft Teams account row when it is shown. Sign in with the correct work or school account and complete Microsoft’s request again. If the account is wrong, disconnect that row and choose Connect account with the correct account.
If Microsoft asks for administrator consent, send the request to the organization’s Microsoft administrator or follow the organization’s approval process. If Teams is unavailable for the organization, an administrator may need to enable it or approve the delegated permission. Harmonise cannot change those policies.
Disconnect Microsoft Teams
In Meeting providers, find the connected Microsoft Teams account and select Disconnect. Confirm the action. Connecting it again later starts a new Microsoft authorization flow.
Disconnecting Teams does not disconnect Microsoft Calendar. It also does not turn a manually entered Teams URL into a managed meeting.
