A writable calendar can receive new Events and calendar-assigned Tasks. Harmonise calendars are writable. A connected calendar is writable only when Google, Outlook, Apple, Yahoo, or a compatible CalDAV server reports edit access.
A Read-only label means the connected account can view the calendar but cannot change it. Read-only calendars can provide planning context, but they cannot become the default or receive creates, edits, or deletes from Harmonise.
Common examples include:
| Calendar | Typical access in Harmonise |
|---|---|
| A personal Harmonise calendar | Writable |
| A provider calendar with edit access | Writable when the provider grants edit access |
| A shared team calendar | Writable or read-only, depending on the provider permission |
| A holidays, recommended, or subscribed calendar | Usually read-only |
| A provider calendar without edit permission | Read-only until its provider permission changes |
On mobile
The calendar picker excludes or disables invalid destinations. In Settings > Calendars, read-only provider calendars show their access state. If access changed at the provider, use Refresh calendars for the connection and check again.
On web
Settings shows a Read-only badge and disables Set Default for that calendar. Writable Events can be created, edited, and deleted from Harmonise; open an Event and choose Edit event when the Event is writable. Standalone Tasks still require a calendar supplied by their creation screen. Use Refresh calendars after changing provider permissions.
Harmonise cannot turn a provider calendar writable locally. If you need edit access, change its sharing permission in the provider or ask the owner, then refresh the connection. Otherwise, create the item in an editable Harmonise calendar.
